This is just your average Cool Dad™ here! I hope you kids out there are doing alright. My real name is Mitch Henderson and I am a sophomore at Creighton Preparatory High School. I know what most of you strangers out there must be thinking... but the truth is that I, alas, have no real children of my own, but I won't let that get in the way of being a Cool Dad™! I currently reside in a place known as Nebraska, and yes the corn here is delicious. I am not originally from this corn obsessed abyss. I am originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, which is located about 40 minutes from Washington D.C. I loved Maryland and had many friends from around the state. My family and I always used to take beach trips in the summer to Ocean City with our family friends. Then one day, my parents decided to go back to their college reunion at Creighton University, and upon their return home, they gave us the news that we were moving to a place known as Omaha, Nebraska. My older sister, Emma, was very excited, and so naturally I became excited about the move too ( I idolized her growing up). My sister informed me that Omaha was only about an hour north of where we were currently residing at the time. Unfortunately she confused Omaha, Nebraska with Baltimore, Maryland. So while I was expecting about an hour drive to get to our new home, instead I was greeted by three long days of car rides with my mother, two sisters (one who cried almost the entire way there) and my pet dog and cat. I attend St. Vincent de Paul elementary school and I was involved with various activities such as Student Council, Speech, yearbook, and the plays and musicals. Even though I was super involved in my grade school I couldn't get out of there fast enough. My eighth grade year I had a bit of issues in school, or should I say a certain girl had an issue with me. The girl would follow me around and she would never leave me alone. Her eighth grade art project was a clay mask of my face! Eventually things got so bad that HER mother put a school restraining order on ME because I was "corrupting" her daughter because I was all that she talked about at home. So on that graduation day while everyone was sobbing about how they were going to miss each other, I was in the back with my two c friends talking about getting ice cream after the ceremony. Now I am in high school and life is going pretty well minus all the panic attacks and stress from school :-) I'm involved with my schools forensics team, student council, NAHS, and the plays and musicals over at Marian High School. I love the arts and hoping to go into the fashion design and marketing field.
You can find all my kids from various schools around Omaha along with several in Minneapolis and Kansas City. My hobbies include meeting new people and traveling although I've never been out of this country. Once when I was little I ALMOST went to Canada, but I apparently I was going through my "terrible twos" and that forced my whole family to stay back. I still plan on going to Canada one day because I hear they have the best maple syrup in the world.
Well kids there is a little bit about your favorite Cool Dad™! Stay tuned to see more of me and my hobbies and interests and failures as I make my way through life.
As all the youngsters are saying theses days "TTYL" "LOL" "GN"
Here is a #selfie of me and one of my daughters (Vivian) going hiking in Iowa!
Great post Mitch, I mean Cool Dad™! It was interesting reading about your life! I can't believe that that crazy girl's mom put a school restraining order on you! Like it was your fault or something.
ReplyDeleteIt is very interesting that you have daughters Mitch. I look forward to further posts.
