Bruce Jenner's Real Identity

http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/bruce-jenner-im-woman/story?id=30570350

We have all heard about the show Keeping Up with the Kardashians. They seem to be in the news quite a lot for who knows what, but recently one of the members of their family, Bruce Jenner, has been getting a lot of media attention. She recently had an interview with abc news stating that he is in fact a woman, and he has always felt that way. Her life as a woman was always kept very secretive while only letting several of her family members know. She had taken some estrogen in the 80s for about 5 years and is now recontinuing taking the hormones. Bruce has not yet given her female name to the public, but she did say that it will not start with a "K".

I personally think it's very sad that Bruce had to live a hidden life for so long. For 65 years he has hidden this secret, and now he has been getting a lot of negative publicity about the whole situation. I think Bruce has a lot of guts to do this, and I think she is a role model for lots of other transgender people out there. I'm very glad he is now able to talk about her true identity as a woman and too see all the support Bruce has been getting through her struggle. I hope people can see that people are not simply "man" or "woman" based on their body parts, but it the inside that turkey determines who you are as a person.

Low Flying Threats

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/gyro-copter-landing-capitol-grounds-raises-questions-about-security-n342671

Just yesterday (April 15) a man by the name of Doug Hughes landed his gyro copter in the lawn of the capital building. Hughes was flying his gyro copter all around Washington D.C. He circled the Washington Komument and flew over the Mall then proceeded to land. This occurrence had many people and tourists very confused because the area In which he was flying was restricted air-space. He was also flying very low. When he landed he was arrested immediately. His plan was to deliver a letter to each of the 535 members of congress, which of course failed, although he did make it quite far. The fact that he got so far has been scaring people for the past day or so. He was able to fly in under radar and was not necessarily viewed as a threat by the people. Although he was harmless the in the end, the thought of having a potentially more dangerous person be able to get that close to the Capitol building is quite scary.

Personally, I'm quite glad an event like that has happened. It makes our government realize that there may be other threats that we should be watching out for instead of the main ones that we are already thinking about. Thankfully this was just a scare and no damage was done, and I'm sure some fellow people in Washionton D.C. At the time got a kick out of seeing a man peddling his gyro copter around the city. It also shows us how much the government is watching us and our information that we send directly to them. Hughes said that he was planning on doing this expedition for several months and told several people and even emaild Barak Obamas info line to tell him. The fact that government didn't resond and wasn't even on alert for him shows that maybe we should be cracking down more on potential threats to America.

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/08/us/south-carolina-officer-charged-with-murder/
When a white South Carolina police officer shoots a black man named Walter Scott five times, things were a little suspicious. Officer Michael Slager was recently charged with murder for his actions. The murder of Walter Scott has been under scrutiny for several days now because it is unclear on exactly why he was shot. Apparently the officer claimed that Walter took took his taser, but from video evidence it appears that the officer just dropped the taser. I think that the officer is rightfully charged with murder because the actions of Walter Scott do not deserve the use of a gun. Especially that he used excessive force, and now that there is video evidence showing that Walter did not take the taser. Although things are still under investigation, I do think it is a good idea for him to be put on trial for justice to be served because there have been so many cases of police officers getting away with murder in the past.
